Sailing to Kardamaina, Kos Island

Kardamaina is a resort town on the south coast of Kos Island, known for its long, sandy beach lined with bars, tavernas, and nightclubs. Boats run from Kardamaina to the volcanic island of Nisyros, home to the active Stefanos Crater.

Be careful of shallow areas around the anchorage and port.

Anchorage

Kardamena Nord: 36° 47.05′ N, 27° 8.92′ E

This is an excellent anchorage with clear water. We anchored in 5 meters on sand, which provides good holding. The anchorage is located north of the small port. Be aware of submarine cables at a distance of 500m to the southwest of the small port. Anchorage and fishing are prohibited up to a distance of 500m from both sides of the cables. When southeast winds prevail in winter, it can be stormy with 2-3m waves.
