What Every Sailor Should Know About Chalki:

Safe Moorings: The main harbour, Nimborio, is protected from most winds and offers a good grip for anchorages. Reviews on Navily suggest the bay’s centre, with a sandy seabed, is optimal for anchoring.

Crowded in Peak Season: Summertime can see the harbour becoming crowded. It’s advised to arrive early in the day to secure a good spot or consider off-peak visits for a more serene experience.

Amenities: Chalki is small, the harbour is well-equipped with water and electricity for boats, and fuel availability is nearby.

Eco-conscious: The locals take pride in preserving Chalki’s pristine environment. Sailors are encouraged to be eco-friendly and ensure they do not disturb the natural habitats.

Connectivity: Chalki is well connected by ferries, especially from Rhodes, which can be a bonus for sailors needing to shuttle between islands or have guests coming in.
