Tilos Island lies between Nisyros and Chalki. On the east coast of Tilos lies the large bay of Ormos Livadia. With a strong Meltemi blowing, gusts come off the surrounding hills, and a swell works its way into the bay.

• There is only one mooring line.
• Check the navigation map for mooring blocks in the marina.
• Good shelter in the marina.
• Water and electricity boxes are available on most berths.

A bus runs around the north of the island, which is recommended. You can also rent a car at the port. Around the marina, there are excellent restaurants and shops. For hiking enthusiasts, there are many marked paths to explore.

Best Beaches on Tilos Island

The other bays are spread over the island and provide an excellent setting for a peaceful time in calm weather. Here are the best beaches on Tilos Island:

Eristos Beach: 36° 25.83′ N, 27° 20.98′ E

Eristos Beach is a large bay on the south side of Tilos, providing some shelter from the Meltemi, although a swell and gusts usually occur in the bay with the Meltemi. This tranquil beach is 3 km south of Megalo Chorio, the island’s capital. You can reach it by following a track road from the capital.

• No facilities are available in Eristos, allowing for total isolation in this beautiful environment.
• The crystal-clear waters are the main attraction.
• Anchor in 3-5 meters off the beach.
• There is a small cafe, toilets, and garbage disposal onshore.

Agios Antonios Beach

Location: 2 km west of Megalo Chorio

Description: Agios Antonios is a calm beach on the island’s northern side. No tourist amenities are nearby, and the seabed can get deep and rocky at some points.

Livadia Beach

Location: 7 km southeast of Megalo Chorio

Description: Livadia is the only organized beach on Tilos, close to most tourist facilities on the island. The water is clean, and the shore is mainly pebbled.

Plaka Beach

Location: 5 km west of Megalo Chorio

Description: Plaka is a narrow bay close to Megalo Chorio. Some bushes along the beach provide shade, and the seabed can get rocky at some points.
