Sailing to Palionisos Bay, Kalymnos Island

Palionisos Bay is a small hamlet with just a few small farmhouses on the northeast coast of Kalymnos, surrounded by spectacular pitted cliffs. This bay offers opportunities for swimming, snorkeling, and climbing.

Anchoring in Palionisos Bay

  • Shelter: Good, except from southerly winds.
  • Bottom: Rocks covered by a thin layer of sand and weed, resulting in poor holding.
  • Anchoring: You can anchor with lines ashore. Do not anchor on seagrass.
  • Max Length: 19m

Mooring Buoys

Two tavernas have laid 17 mooring buoys for their customers:

  • Ilias Tavern: Nine orange buoys.
  • Taverna Kalidonis: Eight white buoys.

It can be a bit crowded in season, so it’s recommended to book in advance and arrive early.
