Piso Livadi — Eastern Paros Fishing Village
A small fishing village on the eastern coast of Paros, with a working harbour, traditional Cycladic atmosphere, and quick access to Golden Beach and the windsurfing waters of Chrissi Akti. Watch the shallow water on the southern approach.
Piso Livadi sits on the eastern coast of Paros, a few kilometres from the busier port at Paroikia. The village has a working fishing harbour with traditional whitewashed houses, tavernas and shops around the front, and quick land access to two of Paros’s main beaches — Golden Beach (Chrissi Akti) and Logaras Beach. It’s a quieter alternative to Naoussa or Paroikia, with the trade-off that services are smaller and the southern approach has a depth hazard.
⚠ Reality check:
→ Shallow water when approaching from the south — care required
→ Working fishing harbour · sailor space limited
→ Smaller services than Paroikia or Naoussa — top up before arriving

Approach & Navigation
⚠ Critical hazard — Shallow water from the south: When approaching from the south, take care of the shallow water. This is the headline navigation hazard for Piso Livadi. Plot the depth contours on the chartplotter, eyeball the water on approach, and consider arriving from the east or north when conditions allow.
The village’s small harbour sits at the head of a sheltered cove, with the whitewashed buildings of the village rising up the slope behind. Once safely past the southern shallows, the approach into the harbour itself is straightforward.
The Village
Piso Livadi has retained its working fishing-village character — whitewashed buildings, azure water, colourful fishing boats in the harbour. It’s a quieter base than Paroikia or Naoussa, with the trade-off that the services and provisioning are correspondingly smaller. The dining scene punches above its size: tavernas along the front specialise in fresh-caught fish and traditional Greek cooking. Walk the front and pick what looks good.
As a base: Piso Livadi works well as a launching point for exploring the rest of Paros and the central Cyclades — bus and taxi connections to Paroikia (main ferry port), the nearby beaches by foot or bicycle, and onward sailing to Naxos, the Lesser Cyclades, or south to Ios.

Golden Beach — Windsurfing Waters

Exploring the Rest of Paros
Naoussa: The north-end resort village. Bus or taxi from Piso Livadi.
Marathi: The ancient marble quarries — historically the source of Parian marble used for the Venus de Milo and other Greek masterpieces. Inland from Piso Livadi.
Lefkes: A scenic mountain village inland — traditional Cycladic architecture, cooler air, good walking trails. Worth a half-day visit by car.
Pro Tips for Piso Livadi
Approach from north or east, not south. The southern approach has shallow water that can catch out a charter yacht. Coming from north (from Naoussa direction) or directly east (from Naxos) avoids the issue.
Use as the quiet alternative. If Naoussa or Paroikia feel too busy, Piso Livadi is the calmer eastern option. Same Cycladic atmosphere, smaller scale.
Top up in Paroikia first. Services are limited at Piso Livadi compared to Paros’s main port. Top up water, fuel, provisions in Paroikia before continuing east.
Walk to Golden Beach for windsurfing. The Meltemi makes Golden Beach (Chrissi Akti) one of the Aegean’s best windsurfing locations. Rentals available on the beach.
Use Logaras for the calm side. Adjacent to Piso Livadi, less wind exposure than Golden Beach. The right call when you want a quiet swim afternoon.
Day trip to Marathi or Lefkes. The marble quarries and the mountain village are both within an hour of Piso Livadi. Good half-day shore options when you want something inland.
