Overnight Anchorage at Isola Piana, Bonifacio-Corsica
In calm weather, you can find a perfect overnight anchorage 3M from Isola Piana, Bonifacio-Corsica.
We arrived in the early afternoon with the wind around 12 knots, and the place was full of boats (there are some buoys available).
We anchored on sand in five meters of water and reached the shore with the kayak. We walked around the two magnificent fine sandy beaches, Cala di U Lioni and Spiaggia di Cala Giunco, which border the translucent waters of this extraordinary wild setting. The anchorage is known for its many rock formations shaped by time and erosion.
In calm weather, there are several anchorage options around the island (see the map). Note that rocks decorate the beaches, so it is advisable to check the Navionics maps.
In the evening, boats started to leave, so we got closer to shore and grabbed a buoy—the calm was in full swing.
I don’t know about you, but this is one of my favourite scenes: a starry night when the water lapping plays in my ears, and I move gently like a baby in a cradle.
Wake up to silence, nature, light, and perfection.
This place is one of the wonders of Corsica— not to be missed and well protected.
