Sail Greece – Sailing Along the East Coast of Corfu

Starting Your Journey from Gouvia Marina

Your adventure begins at Gouvia Marina, a perfect starting point for exploring the east coast of Corfu. From here, you can plan your route and set sail towards some of the most picturesque spots on the island.

Sailing on the East Coast of Corfu

The east coast of Corfu offers a mix of vibrant harbours and serene bays, each with its unique charm. Below, we’d like to highlight some key stops along your sailing route, including anchoring tips and local highlights.

First Stop: Ipsos

Ipsos is a small harbour located towards the south end of the beach. The harbour mainly accommodates small boats and trip boats. Be cautious of the shallow depths, ranging from 2-3 meters at the entrance. Anchoring with a long line to the rough stone breakwater is advisable. You can use your dinghy to get ashore, but please remember that Ipsos can be noisy and crowded, making it less ideal for those seeking quiet.

Next Stop: Agni Bay

Agni Bay, located south of Kalami, offers a more tranquil setting. You can anchor at either the north or south end of the bay, but be careful of old moorings that may pose hazards. The bay provides good shelter from the prevailing NW wind, making it a safe spot for anchoring.

Final Stop: Kalami

Kalami is known for its excellent shelter from the prevailing NW wind. You can anchor in depths of 8-12 meters, staying clear of local moorings in the north. Ashore, you’ll find provisions and excellent taverns where you can enjoy local cuisine.
