Sailing Area: Tersane Creek

36°40.71′N 28°54.70′E – SEPA Marine Reserve Restricted Area (officially Zone D)

Tersane Adasi is an island located a mile to the south of the Yassica Adalari island cluster, and separated from the E shore of Domuz Adasi by a relatively narrow channel. Passage through the channel is convenient as it is quite deep (10-50 m) and brings you directly to 2 anchorages on the NW side of the island, Tersane Creek and Summer Harbor (North Bay), which are sheltered from the prevailing W winds.

The entrance to the creek is narrow and difficult to spot from a distance. The outer end of the entrance is deep, however the two coves at the head of the creek are shallow and rocky. It is possible to anchor in the muddy ground with a line ashore on the W and E walls of the creek right as the entrance begins to widen, or to take advantage of the laid moorings and dock bow or stern-to the pier at the SW corner of the creek near the restaurant at 2-3 m depths. The restaurant is open in high season, and the creek is crowded at that time.

Tersane means “dockyard” where boats were probably built or repaired at one time, and there are numerous ruins all around the shore from the Byzantine era.
