Portofino

Portofino is one of the most attractive places on the Ligurian Coast, Italy.

Impressive entrance, mesmerizing atmosphere, beautiful people, and the food, OMG the food…

Portofino is small and crowded with many tourists during the season, especially at weekends,  so try to be there early. 

Take a walk in the town between luxury shops and packed restaurants; climb to Castello Brown. Or go to the lighthouse, the sights are breathtaking

Mooring in Portofino is problematic, especially if you haven’t booked in advance; some places are to anchor in calm weather and marinas not far away.

0487 We anchored in a lovely spot for a night. and the day after sailed for 6 miles to marina Lavagna, where we rented a car and drove to Portofino. You can also take a train.

It’s a beautiful road; passing Rapallo and Santa Margherita Ligure spectacular landscapes.

 Another fantastic place not to be missed is Camogli.

Berth yachts are on fore and aft moorings  or you can go on the quay

Larger yachts may have to anchor with a long line ashore.

Limited moorings are reserved for visitors. so make sure to have an alternative plan.

In the summer the harbour is very popular, so make sure to have an alternative plan.

Shelter- Uncomfortable swell from E or NE winds and the big tourist boats coming in and out the harbour 

In calm weather, a yacht can anchor the N side of the entrance up to Send cane with a long line ashore in 10-20mon mud and weed.
