Sailing Aegina: Your Guide to Anchorages and Moorings

Agia/Aigina: 37° 44′ 37″ N, 23° 32′ 29″ E

You can anchor on the northeast corner of the bay in 4-6m. The bottom is sand and weed, offering good holding. This open bay lies on the northeast of the island. In calm weather, anchor on the northwest of the bay in 4-6m. The sand and weed bottom provides good holding. The bay features beaches and exclusive hotels. A hike up the hill to the temple of Aphaia offers excellent views.

Kipos: 37° 41′ 15″ N, 23° 30′ 40″ E

This location provides excellent shelter from the north-northwest. The bottom is sand with good holding.

Klima: 37° 40′ 35″ N, 23° 28′ 40″ E

Klima offers great shelter from the north and east but is poor from the south and west.

Perdika: 37° 41′ 27″ N, 23° 27′ 11″ E

This small bay on the southwest is ideal for going stern-to the center mole or anchoring in the bay in 5-7m. Greek tavernas are available ashore. The bay is open to the west, and with strong prevailing winds, it can be uncomfortable.

Moni Bay: 37° 41′ 44″ N, 23° 26′ 14″ E

You can anchor on the north side of the bay in 8-10m. The bottom is sand. Ashore, you’ll find peacocks and deer.

Port of Aegina: 37° 44′ 40″ N, 23° 25′ 41″ E

Go stern to the town quay. It is very busy during the season, but it offers good shelter. Ensure your anchor is holding. An anchorage is also available south of the port in 3-6m.
