Sailing to Agistri: Your Guide to Anchorages and Moorings

Agistri is a small island lying 4M west of Aegina. It is full of lovely bays and small pieces of heaven where you can find peace and synchronize with the essence of life.

Top Anchorages in Agistri

Skilomango West: 37°40’43.8″N 23°19’31.9″E

This large bay is perfect for a Mediterranean mooring. Depths drop quickly, so make sure to use plenty of anchor chain. You can anchor in 10-15m with a long line ashore. The bottom is sandy and offers good holding. This bay provides good shelter from northern winds.

Saronikos: 37°41’16.9″N 23°19’33.8″E

There are many options for Mediterranean mooring around this area. Just choose your spot.

Dragonera Beach: 37°41’50″N 23°19’52″E

Anchor in crystal clear water (5-10m) on sand. A small beach bar is available ashore.

Megali Bali: 37°41’07.7″N 23°21’01.1″E

This is a nice natural bay, ideal in calm weather. You can anchor with a long line ashore in 6-15m.

Ports in Agistri

Megalochori: 37°42’48.9″N 23°20’51.0″E

This port on the northwest side of Agistri is suitable for yachts and offers good shelter from NE-SE winds, although it can get uncomfortable at times.

Approach

Care is needed when approaching from the east due to reefs and shoal water between Agistri and Metopi.

Mooring

Go stern to the quay or alongside the pontoon. There are laid moorings at some berths. Note that blue and yellow strips on the quay mean no mooring for yachts.
