Gocek Marinas

36°44.92′N 28°56.31′E – The wide Gocek bay is located at the far N end of Skopea Limani, at the foot of the town, N of Gocek Adasi. This is quite an active base for charter-boats with many facilities available in town, public transportation to Fethiye and Marmaris, and only a 20 minute drive (18 Km) to Dalaman International Airport on the toll road.
The bay’s entrance is marked on the W by a light (Fl. W/R. 3S 7/4M) where the land curves inward to house Club Marina and Paterson’s Wharf. At the N side of the bay are the smaller Marinturk Village Port Marina, Skopea Marina, and the Municipal Marina. On the E side of the bay is the large D-Marin (Gocek Marina). On the W bank of Poruklu Bay, lying SW of the approach to Gocek bay, is the newer Marinturk Exclusive Marina where mega-yachts, and yachts over 18m long can moor. Prevailing winds blow from the S during the day and from the N at night.
Anchorage is most popular in the N part, in 3-10 m in mud or sand and weed with good holding. Care should be taken as you approach as the water can become quite shallow very quickly a fare distance from the shore. Avoid the large mooring buoys NW of Club Marina.
Turkish gas and camping gaz can be ordered. Some mechanical repairs, sail repairs, chandlery stores, and general maintenance can be sourced around the waterfront, and there are good restaurants and provisions, as well as banks and ATMs to be found around the marinas and in the village.

As you approach from the E watch out for a long reef protruding out from the N shore, the end of which is marked with a conical yellow buoy. The marina is made up of four pontoons making up a kind of fork with laid moorings at all berths. Some berths are more exposed to the E, and could be affected by swells and the prevailing winds during the day. Yacht owners can spend time on their own specially designed covered “floating verandas”, and take advantage of “cafe bistro” units on the pontoon throughout their stay in the marina.
