Best Anchorages on the NE coast of Mallorca:

We sailed from Port Ginesta (near Barcelona) for 90M to the NE Cost of Mallorca.

With sunrise we had a dramatic entrance to Cape Formentor.

We chose to anchor in Cala Murta, for a refreshing swim and breakfast.

For the night, we anchored in Formentor. You can also spend the night in the bay of Pollença that lies approximately 2M W from Formentor.

Approach:

Dramatic entrance to cap of Formentor – Formentor Lighthouse.

You can anchor in Cala en Gossalba or Cala Murta.

 

  • Cala Murta 39° 56.40′ N, 3° 10.92′ E (Pollensa)  

A spectacular small anchorage!

You can anchor in 5-10m on sand only. It’s a reserved area. The bottom is mostly weed, with some sandy spots.

  • Cala Pi de La Posada (Formentor) 39° 55.45′ N, 3° 8.20′ E

A large, sheltered bay. You can find a bar and restaurant on the beach, which are closed at night.

The bottom is sand and weed. You can anchor in 5-10m or rent a buoy

Mooring field, some are private.

You can anchor 4-14m on sand or mud, or dock in the marina.
