Overview

Budva is a small resort town on the Adriatic coast, part of the Budva Riviera. This charming destination is popular for its scenic beauty, historic sites, and vibrant atmosphere. Budva marina is located 13M Northwest of Bar, making it a convenient stopover for sailors exploring the region.

The town was restored and rebuilt after an earthquake in 1979, adding to its unique blend of historical charm and modern appeal.

Approach

The approach to Budva marina is straightforward. Nikola Island lies to the southeast of the town and is connected to the mainland by two ridges of above and below water rocks running NW and N from the extremity of the island. Sailors should navigate carefully around these ridges.

Berthing and Anchorage

To clear customs, berth along the northwest side of the marina.

You can anchor northeast of the marina in approximately 4 meters of water, with good holding on a sandy bottom.

Explore Budva

While in Budva, take time to explore the beautiful churches, museum, and local art galleries. The town offers a rich cultural experience, with plenty to see and do both on and off the water.

Sailing to Sveti Stefan

Sveti Stefan is a must-visit destination when sailing from Budva. Anchor to the east of the island in 6 meters of water. The bottom is composed of sand and weed, providing good holding. However, be cautious as the northwest bay is too deep for anchoring.

Shelter is best from northwest through north to east winds.
